This was a game everybody thought would be postponed to the weather but all credit to Newport, they got loads of volunteers with flame shooters to thaw the frozen parts of the pitch out and the January sunshine worked with them to make it playable. The only game to go ahead in this league.

This game marks the half way point in the season and was always going to a big game to see who was top of the table at Christmas.

This was a game the home side were expected to win easily with Telford at the bottom of the league without a win all season but for the first 20 minutes each side cancelled themselves out with no one crossing the line

This was always going to be a tough game for the Whitchurch side already relegated at the foot of the table against a high-flying Edwardians team in 3rd. place. The reds took the decision to introduce 3 more debutants from the successful Colts side to transition them into senior rugby.

This was always going to be a tough game for the Whitchurch team after travelling 100 miles and playing on a new 4G pitch with a couple of new debutants due to player availability.
