As the season draws to a close this was a must win game for Whitchurch to maintain their ambitions of promotion at the first attempt following relegation last year

Following last weeks defeat at Shrewsbury Whitchurch were looking at keeping promotion on track. They faced a Tamworth side who had lost heavily to Crewe and Nantwich the week before and suffered again.

On Saturday 21^st March, Whitchurch 1s travelled to Shrewsbury for what was to become an exciting local derby with Whitchurch still holding top spot, but Shrewsbury were closing in hard in 3^rd place.
