Whitchurch 39 vs Stourbridge Lions 0
With a few games being postponed with wet pitches Whitchurch had the chance to stretch their lead at the top of the table with a home win against Stourbridge Lions. The home side were the one with all the early pressure and on the 10th minute as the Stourbridge defence tried to pass the ball out wide with their back Harry Jackson timed an interception and ran in unchallenged to open the scoring for Robbie Leighton to score. Whitchurch were finding it hard to break through until captain Ian Gillespie went on a strong run from inside his own half then offloading to Elliott Horton who passed a couple of tackles before off loading to Danny Nicolas who put the perfect cross kick to the wing where Liam Udy was there to catch and run in for the best team try of the game. The conversion from the touchline was missed by Leighton but he kicked a penalty 3 minutes later to give the home team a 2 score advantage. Stourbridge had that Lions attitude and kept pressing but the well organised home defence kept them at bay and just on the stroke of half time man of the match Robbie Leighton did a couple of brilliant side steps past defenders to score under the post which he converted to give Whitchurch a 22:0 lead at the break.
It took just 3 minutes into the second half when a long pass by Liam Udy missing the outside centre found winger Josh Hares in space to run in to score in the corner. Both sides then cancelled themselves out with both team making a few mistakes to score but Robbie Leighton sealed the victory with another try under the post which he converted to leave the final score 39 : 0
