Whitchurch 2’s 20 v Bloxwich 13
This was the toughest opposition the second team have faced this season and for those that went to watch was a thriller even though low scoring. Bloxwich went into an early lead with a penalty before Abe Spragg went over for the first try pf the game which was converted by Jimmy Leedham. Bloxwich then scored early in the second half to take the lead 10:7 and each team cancelled each other out until the last 5 minutes. Then Teddy Ravenscroft scored to put the home side up by 2 points but then gave away a penalty that Bloxwich converted to go back 1 point ahead. With the final whistle looming Whitchurch were awarded a penalty which was put over by Leedham to put the home side back in front. Then with the last play of the game Alfie Crompton sealed the win with a try in the corner.
Another strong performance by the second team who are now 5 points clear at the top of the league. Next week they travel to Aldridge kick off 2:15
There is a good atmosphere about the club at the moment with plenty of players available and next week there is a 3rd. team fixture at home against Shrewsbury 2’s. Both 1st. team and 3rd. team kick off at 2:15pm and would appreciate any support.
