This was a topsy turvey game wih another heartbreak ending for Whitchurch. As early as the third minute, the Shropshire lads were hit with an injury to Alex Clarke.

After three away games on the trot, Whitchurch finally returned to Edgeley Park and winning ways.

The old adage that “forwards decide who wins a match; backs decide by how many” was proved untrue at Ludlow on Saturday.

Whitchurch have never won with this referee officiating but, when they were leading by 23 – 14 with less than a minute to go, it looked like they were eventually going to end this statistic.

Whitchurch played full of heart and determination but lost in the last ten minutes.

This was a case of Whitchurch losing the match rather than Stratford winning it.

This was the first game Whitchurch had played rugby since December 3rd due to the severe weather.

Mighty Hereford, the major city with a huge population and a proud rugby heritage, were humbled by Whitchurch.
